The Progressive DC rectifier is unique in the industry because it achieves constant current density with a totally balanced current flow path. All diodes in the rectifier circuit are excited simultaneously, thus avoiding diode overloading and excessive heat which is the main cause of diode failure. 

Secondary currents range from 15,000 to 50,000 amperes, intermittent and 10,000 to 25,000 amperes, continuous.

Proof of the efficiency achieved by Progressive's patented transformer-rectifier is demonstrated by the extremely rapid rise of the direct current output. Full DC current amplitude is generally obtained in the first half cycle of the weld.

All Progressive Seam Welder heads can be provided with our constant contact collector ring current transfer system (patented). These unique heads are so rugged that our customers can be assured of up to TWENTY THOUSAND HOURS of trouble-free production before the collector rings need replacement.

Progressive can also provide equipment and instructions to convert your present AC welding machines to DC in your own plant, or we will handle the complete conversion in our shop under the experienced supervision of our welding specialists.
